1. Data We Collect
SnapKeys handles the details needed to provide and secure its shortcuts, ribbon, Slides tools and billing. When you sign in we keep your email address, subscription entitlement, and internal identifiers so we can confirm access to premium features. We do not record general browsing history or the text you type in documents.
1.1 Account Information
Authentication is handled by Supabase. SnapKeys retains the minimal identifiers Supabase provides for account management and support. We do not request your birth date, Social Security number, or other sensitive identifiers.
1.2 Google Editor Data and Local Preferences
The extension reads the active Google Docs, Sheets or Slides page's URL, menu labels and account information to find commands, verify the matching account and return you to your editor after login or billing. A Google editor return URL is passed to Stripe when you open checkout or subscription management. This can include the document identifier; it is not sent in usage analytics. Shortcut combinations, ribbon choices, settings and session information are stored locally in your Chrome profile. Keyboard handling is limited to recording the shortcuts you configure and recognizing commands while you use the extension.
The separate Slides add-on reads and changes objects in the presentation where you run a command. Copy Slide Titles displays the presentation's titles in a dialog inside Slides. Slide text, object contents and presentation identifiers are not sent to the SnapKeys entitlement or analytics endpoints.
1.3 Usage Metrics
Optional usage analytics record command names, random analytics identifiers, session information and basic language or application context so we can improve SnapKeys. These events do not include your email address, document contents, document URLs or authentication credentials. You can opt out of extension analytics at any time in the extension settings. The Slides add-on separately records completed command names with a random analytics ID, never slide content, presentation IDs or email addresses. You can turn off add-on analytics in Extensions → SnapKeys → Setup & Help; this setting is independent of the extension setting.
1.4 Data Minimization & Limited Use
SnapKeys follows Google's Limited Use requirements: we collect only the information that is strictly necessary to authenticate you, verify subscription access, process billing, and keep the service reliable. We do not reuse or repurpose personal data for unrelated features, advertising, or resale. If we ever need information beyond core functionality, we will present an in-product disclosure and obtain your consent before collecting it.
2. Data Sharing & Processors
SnapKeys only shares personal data with essential service providers:
- Supabase (Auth) — authentication, secure session storage, and account management.
- Google Analytics — optional usage measurement for the extension and Slides add-on. Add-on events contain completed command names, a random analytics ID and session information. We do not include slide content, presentation IDs or email addresses in these events. You can disable add-on analytics in SnapKeys → Setup & Help and extension analytics in the extension settings.
- Stripe (Billing) — subscription billing, fraud prevention, and payment notifications. We share your email and necessary billing details so payments can be authorized and reconciled. Stripe encrypts card data at entry; SnapKeys never sees your full card number or CVV. Stripe may collect and process additional data about you, such as information about your device, geographic location, name, and transactional information to comply with regulations and to prevent fraud, and may involve trusted fraud-prevention partners during checkout. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for more information on how Stripe stores and manages your data.
We do not disclose personal data to other third parties.
3. Security Measures
All requests to and from SnapKeys, Supabase, and Stripe are transmitted over HTTPS and encrypted in transit. Stripe encrypts payment card information at the point of entry. Access to production data is restricted to vetted senior staff using accounts secured with multi-factor authentication. We regularly review access privileges and follow industry-standard practices to protect the information we hold.
4. How We Use Data
We use your information solely to deliver SnapKeys, improve the product, and protect your account. We never sell personal information or share it with advertisers.
4.1 Service Delivery
Your email address and subscription status let us confirm that you have access to SnapKeys Pro, notify you about account issues, and provide support when you reach out.
4.2 Product Improvements
Aggregate usage data guides product decisions so we can optimize shortcut coverage and performance without reviewing any spreadsheet contents.
5. Your Choices & Rights
You control your data. If you ask us to deactivate your account, SnapKeys will remove associated personal information within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required by law.
5.1 Access & Deletion
Contact us to review or delete the data SnapKeys stores about you. We will respond within 30 days and, where possible, request that Stripe erase your billing profile. Stripe or its fraud-prevention partners may retain limited records when necessary for legal compliance or security; SnapKeys cannot access or direct those systems.
5.2 Prominent Disclosure & Consent
SnapKeys does not collect personal or sensitive data beyond what is required to deliver the extension’s functionality. If that ever changes, we will provide an in-product disclosure that explains the data involved, the purpose for collecting it, and how you can accept or decline. You will not be opted in without clear consent.
5.3 Updates To This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. When changes are made we adjust the "Last updated" date and highlight substantive revisions in product communications or release notes.
